MY LOOK: When Real Life Got In The Way

I've not blogged for what seems like forever, as my normal life took over, sorry. Two of my best friends were visiting for 2 weeks so I spent loads of time with them, then it was the Xmas week. Oh and within all that, I had to cope with coming home to my apartment being 2 inches under water after the washing machine broke, and not being able to move my arm properly for 4 days, after J gave me a piggyback and dropped me on my elbow!!!

But I'm back now and hope to get back to some more regular blogging. I didn't even take blog pictures over the last few weeks as things have been a bit manic, but have found these which weren't meant to be a blog post, it was just J wanting to get a nice shot of me!  However, I tried to upload to Instagram when possible, so anyone following me will have seen everything I was eating and drinking as thats all my instagram seems to be!  Take a look on my sidebar if you'd like to follow me (dawnhayward).

We've booked our flights back to the UK for the end of January, so we are both now on holiday until then, so we have lots planned, including a holiday up the garden route, so hopefully lots of opportunity to get some posts planned. I'm not looking forward to moving back, I've had the best year of my life living in Cape Town, so I will be making the most of every second we have, before I have to try to pack everything we brought and bought here into 4 cases!!  However, I can’t wait to get my wardrobe back as I had to leave so much at my Dads as we couldn’t bring everything.  I have over 100 pairs of shoes, but only brought 4 (plus flip flops and sandals which don’t could as shoes), so I can’t wait to have choice back!  Plus, although the winter February weather will be a killer after an SA summer, I love layering, so can’t wait to try some new looks.

Anyway, back to the matter in hand. This outfit is what I wore to have sushi and cocktails on my birthday at Crystal Towers Hotel. I've used this location before here, as its one of my fave places in Cape Town, and its on my doorstep, as its on the complex where I live. This is one of my fave go to dresses as it looks just as good dressed up or down. Its actually backless, but seeing as these weren't shot for Just Dee, you can't see it, sorry!!

On a final note, I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. After not feeling at all Christmassy, as being in 30 degree plus heat does not constitute Christmas for me, we had an amazing day with great friends, and I hope you did too.
