MY LOOK: Tropical Denim

We have friends over from the UK at the moment, so whilst they've been on a bit of a road trip this week, J and I have been chilling.  On Wednesday we went to  the opening of a new open air cinema at the botanic gardens which was awesome.  Sitting outside with a picnic and vino was great, even though the film was about mountain biking (J is a massive cycling fan).  Next week its Forrest Gump, so we've book to go again.  To repay the favour, we went to see the new Twilight movie last night.  I've been a huge fan of the franchise, and love the books, so was really excited about seeing the final one.  BUT, I was really disappointed!  I love the story, and the twist is fab, but I just left feeling like it should have been better.  Maybe I had too high expectations, maybe I don't actually remember the book as well as  think (note to self, read Breaking Dawn again!), but I just let feeling flat.  Thats not to say it wasn't good, just not as good as I'd hoped!  What does anyone else think who has seen it?  All my friends loved it, so it may just be me??

Anyway, back to fashion!  This is what I wore to the flicks.  We went out for dinner 1st, so I wanted something quite smart, but also that wouldn't look to dressed up for the flicks.  I bought this skirt in the sale a while ago, and have so far only worn it as a boob tube (should really do some outfit pics of that), but I think it looks good dressed down with the denim shirt.  I'm not normally a huge floral fan (unless they have a black base) but I liked the contrast of the citrus brightness and the black, and thought it was an easy way for me to wear the tropical and floral trends without straying to far out of my comfort zone.  That said, I am trying harder to mix things up, and have a floral print mix outfit planned soon!  Also, excuse the grumpy look on my face in these pics, I was hungry and wanting to go out!
